About my work...
My practice incorporates old master techniques – specifically the use of opaque & transparent paint layers and colour temperature to create the optical illusion of depth, form and texture.

What do you see?

In my most recent work I am continuing my exploration into pure abstraction by abandoning the use of any forms or motifs which may carry associations. My paintings have no “meaning”. I am not seeking to direct the viewer's interpretation. Instead, much like the Rorschach Psychological Inkblot Tests, your own individual perceptions will influence that which you see. My paintings are “untitled” for the same reason - to allow you to have your own unique experience without being guided by a title, or my observations of the work.

Whilst grounded in old master techniques, my influences include Aboriginal Art, Impressionism, Fauvism, Op Art, and Pure Abstraction.
